Hi - hopefully this guide will help make this a simple process for you. If you have any questions, please phone (306-664-9495) or email me at garnet@vividworks.com - I am happy to help you and want to make this an easy process for you.
STEP 1: WRITE A LETTER OF SUPPORT
This can include anything you like, and can touch on the following:
- How you know me or my work
- Intellectual ability
- Knowledge of field
- Work habits
- Motivation to pursue graduate study
- Seriousness of purpose
- Potential for significant future contribution in field
- Resourcefulness and initiative
- Emotional maturity
- Adaptability to new situations
- Appropriateness of research to a hybrid art/technology program
- Leadership qualities
- Teaching potential
Feel free to add any sparkles of support which you feel are appropriate.
STEP 2: MAKE THE LETTER "GENERIC"
If you want to save yourself some work, the following notes will help you write a single generic letter that will be appropriate in all instances:
PROGRAM TYPE: "Interdisciplinary Graduate Research"
SALUTATION/ADDRESSEE: "Review Board"
NOTE: All of these letters are in support of grad studies - except for Fulbright, which is a scholarship.
STEP 3: PASTE IN AN ADDRESS INTO THE HEADER OF EACH LETTER (OPTIONAL)

STEP 4: PRINT IT, SIGN IT, STUFF IT, SEND IT
Print and sign the letter. Place it into the proper envelope. Complete corresponding paperwork. Throw it in the mail.
DONE.
Thanks - I completely appreciate your assistance and support with this. I owe you. The next time I see you I will buy you a steak and a cold beer.
