Art on Site : Saskatoon, SK, Canada
1995

The viewers of the installation were brought down a stairway and into a blindingly dark corridor.

The dark corridor led to the installation room - a lightless, cold, humid, dirt-floored chamber.

While viewers were still disoriented and blinded by the darkness, the dismantled TV set was plugged in. Its tubes would gradually start to glow, slowly lighting up the pitch-black space and the watery pit beneath.

Most viewers' eyes took 5 - 10 minutes to adjust to the darkened atmosphere.
